Saving Sea Turtles in the Caribbean

For nearly 30 years, the Wider Caribbean Sea Turtle Conservation Network (WIDECAST) has brought stakeholders together to implement a suite of sea turtle conservation policies and programs in the region. Its efforts are paying off - the Caribbean is the only geographic region in the world that can demonstrate rising populations of all six of its marine turtle species. Conference proceedings from the Third Western Hemisphere Migratory Species Initiative Conference, held from July 22 - 25, 2008 in Asunción, Paraguay.

The Society for the Conservation and Study of Caribbean Birds (SCSCB) and the Environmental Awareness Group are organizing the "Beyond the Beach -- Birds and Tourism for Sustainable Islands" meeting, to be held July 14 - 18, 2009 at the Jolly Beach Resort in Bolans Village, Antigua.
