Summary: The Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) was established by the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC), signed by the governments of the United States, Mexico, and Canada in 1994. The CEC was created to address regional environmental concerns, help prevent potential trade and environmental conflicts, and promote the effective enforcement of environmental law. The CEC website includes information about the Commission's projects, a section where citizens and NGOs can submit information about law enforcement failures, and materials regarding CEC's guidelines and framework for conducting consultations with the public. Publications and an event schedule are also available.
