Organization: Commission for Environmental Cooperation Languages: English, Spanish, and French Country/Region: United States, Mexico, and Canada Summary: The Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) was established by the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC), signed by the governments of the United States, Mexico, and Canada in 1994. The CEC was created to address regional environmental concerns, help prevent potential trade and environmental conflicts, and promote the effective enforcement of environmental law. The CEC website includes information about the Commission's projects, a section where citizens and NGOs can submit information about law enforcement failures, and materials regarding CEC's guidelines and framework for conducting consultations with the public. Publications and an event schedule are also available.

The site features search engines for information organized into 4 sections: treaties; national legislation; court decisions from major national and international cases; and related literature. Each section is searchable by subject, keyword, country, and/or date.
Organization: Interamerican Association for Environmental Defense (AIDA) Languages: English, Spanish Country/Region: Americas Summary: AIDA is consortium of environmental law organizations that seek to protect human health and the environment by developing and enforcing environmental laws and mechanisms for citizen participation. Their Web site highlights proposed and defeated projects that would negatively impact biodiversity, indigenous peoples, critical ecosystems, and human rights in the Americas.
